MEDIATION FOR BUSINESS DISPUTES

Mr. Wertlieb is available to mediate business-related disputes. He brings his many years of experience as a corporate transactional lawyer to assist parties in resolving their disagreements. As a mediator, Mr. Wertlieb acts as a neutral third-party who helps facilitate the settlement of legal disputes.

BOARD OF DIRECTOR APPOINTMENTS

Mr. Wertlieb is available to serve as a member of boards of directors. He has served as a member of the board for certain of his clients (including the Los Angeles Kings Hockey Team, the Los Angeles Art Association and Windward School), has held leadership positions on various committees and other professional organizations (including as Chair of the California Lawyers Association Ethics Committee, as Chair of each of the Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct, Business Law Section, and Corporations Committee of the State Bar of California, and as Chair of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Professional Responsibility and Ethics Committee), and was an executive officer of a publicly-traded company (IDB Communications Group, Inc.).

Throughout his career, Mr. Wertlieb has advised board members with respect to their fiduciary duties and corporate governance.

ETHICS CONSULTING

Wertlieb Law Corp advises lawyers and law firms on ethics-related issues, especially with respect to compliance with the California Rules of Professional Conduct. Mr. Wertlieb is a former Chair and Founding Member of the California Lawyers Association Ethics Committee; a former Chair, Advisor and six-year Member of the State Bar of California’s Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct; a former Chair and current Member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Professional Responsibility and Ethics Committee; and the former Chair of the Ethics Group responsible for the California practices of Milbank LLP, a leading international law firm where Mr. Wertlieb was a Partner for two decades.

Mr. Wertlieb has given numerous presentations on attorney ethics, and has led the review and comment on proposed new and amended California Rules of Professional Conduct on behalf of each of the State Bar of California’s Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct and the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Professional Responsibility and Ethics Committee.

INTERNAL INVESTIGATIONS

Wertlieb Law Corp is available to conduct internal investigations where warranted to assist clients in evaluating potential wrongdoing by company insiders. Mr. Wertlieb has led internal investigations in matters relating to corporate governance and fiduciary duties, financial improprieties, securities law compliance and attorney ethical compliance.

Wertlieb Law Corp is a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider. Mr. Wertlieb has more than three decades of experience as a business transactional lawyer and is admitted to practice in California, New York and Washington, D.C.
